The Moon is a Moon of Earth. It orbits around our planet. The Moon is also called luna. The distance between the Moon and the Earth is about 300,000km. Meaning it takes light about 1,3 seconds to reach the Moon from the Earth. A small amount of people have travelled to the Moon, but no one travels there anymore ; yet to be found out why. The Moon is made out of stone and rocks. There are many craters on the Moon, because of comets, meteorites and asteroids. The Earth has 1 moon only, though it has been theorised that Earth had 2 moons, where the other one got destroyed about 4 billion years ago. The second Moon was called Thea. Or Thea was just a planet that collided with Earth, creating the Moon. The Moon orbits around the Earth every month. That's why the word month comes from "Moon".
