The Moon is a Moon of Earth. It orbits around our planet. The distance between the Moon and the Earth is about 300,000km. Meaning it takes light about 1 second to reach the Moon from the Earth. A small amount of people have travelled to the Moon, but no one travels there anymore ; yet to be found out why. The Moon is made out of stone and rocks. There are many craters on the Moon, because of Comets, Meteorites and Asteroids. The Earth has 1 moon only, though it has been theorised that Earth had 2 moons, where the other one got destroyed about 4 billion years ago. The second Moon was called Thea. The Moon orbits around the Earth every month. That's why the word month comes from "Moon".
