The Dark Area is an extreme part of a void-tunnel. It's size (and don't forget about dimensionality) is uncalculable because time doesn't exist from The Great Cosmic Barrier to the Sigma. This void tunnel is also infinitely long, but given enough time, you can reach The End of the Tunnel. Also, The End of the Tunnel also contains the Dark Area.
