The Zalgoverse is a verse in which light gets distorted vertically. It was named that way because it looks like Z̷̢̝͇͍̬̅̉̈́ā̵̡̺̤͔̙͎̺́̈́̓̋̔͜͠ͅl̷͈̜͙̖̯͉͇̭̟͑̊͋͂̽̓͌̀̽̔̿̔̃͒̋ͅg̴̦̩̤̩͉̥̟̲͙̳͕̋͂̎̈́͑̊͐̀̚͘ơ̸͙̫͖͍̖̜̄̆͋̈́ ̴̣̥̕ţ̷̛͖͈̲̱̮̰͙̙͕͈̤͈͎̉͑̃͊̽e̴̡͔͚̹͕̙͕̬̫̅̈́̆͒̋̉͆͆́̅ẍ̶̡̭̭̮̺̩̲̹͉̯̲́̅̈́̇̓̓̈́͜ẗ̵̰̭̻́̇͠.̷̢̡̺͚̰͍͍̪͛͒͋̉͂̂͑͋̒̂̎ͅͅ

The light's distortion is a rare occourence of blurring, in which photons, even close to each other vertically, can end up in different places. That makes a weird blurring effect, that blurs objects vertically.

Life in this verse (96% of planets) could adapt to see like us, without the vertical blur. But if we went to Zalgoverse, we would see the vertical blur.

There is not an explanation for why that phenomenon occours, but one theory says that there is an "aether" in the voids of the verse, that could be a higher density of strings.
